Adrift 2 was found in a smaller log dam farther upstream. This dam is shaded by trees, so moss and fungi can be found on the trapped driftwood pieces. I have noticed that these logs also tend to be darker in color. I enjoy digging through these dams because there are logs from many different trees not found on my property. The colors are very intriguing to me, as well as the cavities formed by the running water. I like to think about where these pieces came from and what their journey was like. I like to ponder on the scenery these logs have passed and how long they have traveled before coming to rest in the dam.
