Unearthed 4

6” x 7” x 20”
cedar, mahogany, and steel
Unearthed 4 is one of the rare pieces of cedar I find on the creek. Not many cedar trees grow there, so it was probably carried from somewhere upstream. The creek often overflows its banks during heavy rain and deposits all types of new driftwood when it recedes. I found this piece half-buried in mud near the bank after a violent rainstorm. I always enjoy walking along the creek after such storms because I like to see how the creek has changed, and there is always something new to find.
